Women vs. Machines

When you try explaining to a woman why system A is better than system B because system A has additional features and greater parts, you will find her slightly bored as women tend not to focus on details as much as men do. For this reason, it can be quite a challenge to explain to a woman how complex material handling equipment works.

Most women, even with an interest in knowing details of such equipment, tend to be intimidated by the massive forms of these mechanical things. Conveyors, cranes and industrial trucks which are common types of material handling equipment can easily discourage an average woman from getting any closer to inspect how it works. As safety is such a great deal for women, they wouldn’t mind observing how such machineries work from afar. Women also tend to keep away from things that could break their nails, stain their clothing, and ruin their hairdo, thus they don’t usually find oily, hard, noisy and bulky machineries as interesting.

Although the mentioned characteristics are common in women, there are still a number of women who are genuinely interested in devices and machineries especially if these mechanical things have a great influence in their lives; a family business for example.
